Dear Bayshore Little League Community,
As you are aware, the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has begun to affect our community. It is the Board of Directors responsibility and commitment to each of the families within our supervision to continuously provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone within our community. Given that the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) is unprecedentedly fluid we are committed to being overly cautious when the health & welfare of our Bayshore community is at stake.
Having consulted the Bayshore Board of Directors, our District Administrator, the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department, and other relevant agencies, including the CDC’s recent reports, we have decided that, effective immediately Thursday March 12th, we will be suspending all league operating activities including practices, games, player development activities, and associated meetings & gatherings.
Additionally, with regards to our upcoming fundraiser, Field of Dreams, the Board of Directors has also moved to reschedule our 50th anniversary celebration to sometime this fall.
I recognize that these decisions may come as a disappointment to some, but decisions that are appropriate to prioritize the health & safety of our community.
We understand these are trying times and that many of us look to other activities such as sports, in this particular case little league, as an outlet for children and ourselves. Your support and patience is much appreciated as we continue to provide accurate and timely information. We will plan on communicating any information that my impact the restarting of our little league operations on or about Saturday, March 21st.
Thank you for your support during this time is critically important to help us provide a healthy and stable environment to the Bayshore Little League community.
Respectfully,
